vacation

We are in Cancun! After two days of trying to get to Argentina on stand by and having no luck. . . (and gate agents telling us we would definitely not make it the next couple days) . . . we looked at the map and decided to spend a week in Cancun instead! It has been so fun :)
On Monday we met up with Bob's parents in Cozumel (they were on a cruise that stopped in Cozumel for the day)

We rented scooters and rode all over the island

Last night we relaxed on the beach and ate nachos

Last Thursday night I was driving home from school listening to the radio when the radio host came on talking about how it was 'national man make dinner' day. Then they started playing these cute little messages from women saying what their man did for them. I was thinking 'oh that's cute and wow i had know idea this day even existed!'
Little did I know but my man was making dinner for me! When I walked in the door I instantly smelled it - his signature dish - Massaman Curry! WOO WOO! (this could be a new fav holiday)

Wolf and Little Red for the cure

For Halloween we celebrated by running the "Run like Hell" - it is this AWESOME 5K race through Cincinnati (it even goes through a graveyard) that every one runs dressed in costume. It is so fun. Also the proceeds go to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation which makes the run even better :)
The last time I did this was with my friend Valen in high school and we dressed up as 80's aerobic instructors with Afros...

This time bob dressed as a wolf and I was little Red, also my brother Jake and friend Tyler ran too!

(Is that one buff wolf or what??! ha ha)

P.S. be sure to check out those jean shorts :)

Fall

Wow fall is so beautiful - we had a great weekend canoeing, rollerblading, soccer games and. . .making burritoes (can it get more random?!)

On Friday after work we went to this amazing lake only 10 min away - they have free canoeing and trails to walk on. It was SO beautiful.

300 acres of this:

On saturday we went rollerblading on a trail close to our house - the weather was perfect :) About half way through, I was holding on to Bob's jacket so I could just lazily roll along with him pulling me, when I saw a SNAKE - right in time for Bob's rollerblade to blade right over it as I was watching! . we stopped right after this happened to look at the snake again and all that was left was a slithering trail of blood....SICK
ha ha other than that - roller blading was awesome!

Last night we went to kroger to pile up on Bob's favorite frozen burrito's when we got the fabulous idea to just make the burrito's ourselves, save some $ and freeze them. So we spent about 3 hours cooking and assembling burritos while jamming to pandora. It was actually really fun - we made 30 burritoes! (Bob is a happy man :))

Finished product!

Our New Apartment

Last weekend we moved into our apartment! We LOVE it! It has been fun to unpack and organize all our stuff that has been packed away for 4 months. (wow has it really been 4 months since we left boston?)

Pictures coming soon!

p.s. yesterday I was in the grocery store shopping away when all of the sudden I got shocked, you know, the kind of shock you get when you rub your feet on the carpet and touch a doorknob. The weird thing was, I hadn't touched anything, just the cart... So I thought it was just a fluke until 2 min later I got shocked again. The cart was SHOCKING me!! How is that even possible?! After this happened I decided to avoid touching any metal on the cart and push the cart with just my finger and thump as if I were holding a small English tea cup... All of the sudden, shock! Yep, that cart had it in for me. Everyone around must have thought I was yet another crazy found at Wal-Mart. Ha ha, hopefully I don't end up on this website: http://www.peopleofwalmart.com/

Raspberry Jam

Heidi came over today and we made peach raspberry jam. I had been wanting to learn how to can for awhile and today was the day :) It surprised me how fun and easy it was!

I had gotten Peaches yesterday at the farmers market and they smelled so good... seriously we wanted to lick the bowl clean from those peaches.
So first, we cut up the fruit and mashed it up. Then you put the fruit, some apple juice, a little lime juice, pectin and sugar in a pot and bring to a boil. Once it boils for 2-3 min, you are ready to pour it into your sanitized jars. After the jam is in the jars you put all the jars in a big pot and boil them for ten minutes, which allows it to seal. The end result:
fresh raspberry peach jam :)
This was my favorite part- When the cans are cooling off - they "pop" which seals them, and lets you know you did it right!

Bob texted me asking what I was up to and I texted a picture back to him of the cans... and then before I knew it the mister was home for a  lunch of fresh jam and toast! So fun!

We got a CAR!

We have been looking for another car every since we decided to move to Cinci. Last weekend we found one! It is a 2008 Honda Accord. WOO HOO!

Business Trip!

Bob had a business trip in Cleveland on Thursday and Friday. Since I am currently not working or going to school - he took me with him!
We stayed in the Hyatt Regency and while he was in meetings I got to explore Cleveland. The coolest thing about Cleveland was definitely the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. I am not much of a Rocker. . .but I really liked it! My favorite part was looking at the clothes that Rockers wore (and wear today). There were some pretty crazy things.
That night we went out to eat at a mexi restraunt. It was so fun to be together. I love this boy!

I never thought I would say this . . .but I now LIKE business trips :)
On Thursdays my mom and I go to the Seven Hills Resale Shop.
It is a "thrift" store with stuff that has been donated from only families that attend the Seven Hills School. We almost always find something good!

This time I saw an old coffee table and had to snatch it up:

I am trying to decide if I should just leave it how it is . . .or do something to it... any ideas?!

Boston

We went back to Boston last weekend to get everything we had left in our apartment over the summer and bring it back to Cincinnati.

While we were there we:

1. Got to see our friends and say goodbye
2. Witnessed Hurricane Irene
3. Cleaned and packed our apartment like crazy

4. Said goodbye to Boston on a bike tour with friends Josh and Lauren Williams -SO FUN!

5. Packed up a 16 foot truck with all the "stuff"

it was very sunny

6. Drove directly through NYC (at rush hour)
we took this pic just as we were getting out of the traffic

We are going to miss so many things about Boston. It is an amazing city. We loved riding our bikes to the haymarket; stopping at regina's for pizza in the north end; walking through the common holding hands; running on newbury street at the crack of dawn on saturday mornings before the hustle and bustle arrived; Scampa's famous roast beef sandwhiches; Bukowski's 2 dollar burgers; taking little trips all along the east coast.... We could keep going for a long time - Boston will always have a little piece of us.
